F.A.Q. Top 10
These answers may not be all inclusive since there are very
many scenarios that cause computer problems. It is good place
to start.
Q: Why does my computer run so slow?
A: You may have a virus, not enough memory, your processor
may be too old for the applications you are using.
Q: Won't won't my computer boot up?
A: You may have a virus, a bad hard drive, your registry
may be corrupt, you may have an unknown CD in the drive.
Q: I can't get email anymore, what happened?
A: Check your internet connection. Make sure you can
surf the web. Click on links you've never been to before.
Q: Why is my computer clock always wrong!
A: Double click on time at bottom right of screen. Adjust
time and date in Window.
Q: Why do windows open in a reduced size.
A: Open window fully by clicking on box at top right
corner. Close window then reopen. Windows remembers last size
used.
Q: Why do windows files appear as large folders.
A: To see details of files, created date, file size,
file type extension, choose "View, "Details"
Q: I've saved so many files and can not find any of
them!
A: Go to www.google.com,
download & install Google Desktop. This program will index
everything on your computer making it easy to find anything.
Q: Working with 2 files at the same time is hard, too
much switching back and forth.
A: Minimize both Windows by clicking the box in the upper
right hand corner.
Q: I made a mistake and can't "undo"
A: Hold down the CONTROL key and hit Z.
Q: You visited a great Website in the past few weeks
but can't remember where it was and you forgot to put it in
favorites.
A: On your browser, click the "History" button.
A list of recently visited sites will appear on the left. To
close the list, click "History" again.
